About E Shram Card 2022:
- Any worker who is unorganized and is between 16-59 years of age is eligible for registration on the e-Shram portal.
- There are no income criteria for registration on e-shram as an unorganized worker. However, one should not be an income tax payer.
- Documents like Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank account linked with Aadhaar will be required by the worker to register on the e-Shram portal. It may be noted that in case a worker does not have an Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/she can visit the nearest CSC and register through biometric authentication.
- After registering on the portal, workers will get accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh under PMSBY. In future, all social security benefits of unorganized workers will be distributed through this portal. In situations like emergencies and national pandemics, this database can be used to provide necessary support to eligible unorganized workers.
- An unorganized worker can register himself through assisted approach by visiting the e-shram portal or by visiting the nearest CSC. It may be noted that the registration on the e-Shram portal is free of cost. The workers are not required to pay any fee to any registration unit.
- The applicant must be a permanent resident in India.
